The Boise State Writing Project began in the summer of 2005 on the campus of Boise State University.  Twenty-five teachers and administrators from throughout Southern Idaho came together to talk, to read, to study, and hopefully to influence writing instruction for the students of Idaho. 

The BSWP, while still in its infancy, is working to bring high-quality professional development programs to the teachers of Southern Idaho.  Through its Summer Institute and other exciting programs, the BSWP is fast becoming recognized for its innovative teaching methods and high standards of excellence.

The Boise State Writing Project is headed by Dr. Jeffrey Wilhelm, a noted authority on Inquiry teaching and author of over 20 books, including  Inquiring Minds Learn to Read and Write,  Getting It Right:  Fresh Approaches to Teaching Grammar, Usage, and Correctness, published by Scholastic books.
