Getting To Know FrontPage 2000: A Tutorial      |    FrontPage Support Links

This Web site provides English Department faculty with all the information they need to create and publish Web sites on the English FrontPage server (english.boisestate.edu).

There are five steps involved in creating and publishing a Web site on our server:

  1. Obtaining and installing a copy of FrontPage
  2. Getting a Web account
  3. Creating a Web site using FrontPage
  4. Publishing your Web site
  5. Getting a link to your site on the English Department's faculty/staff directory

Click on the above links for information on how to accomplish these five steps. The Tutorial is designed for new users. The Quick Reference Card and User Guide are designed for all users. The support links will help you find technical answers to software and Web account questions.

You will find three versions of each document:

  • The master documents are written in Microsoft Word 2000. Viewing or printing these files will give you the clearest copies.
  • Adobe PDF files are available for those who prefer this format. These files take the longest to download and include some graphics that are not as sharp as the originals.
  • You may also link to the Web pages converted from the Word documents. The auto conversion has caused some irregularity in the formatting of these pages. You may find this form convenient if you wish to add bookmarks in your browser list of links. Because the graphics are embedded in the pages, your first download of the tutorial and user guide may take some time, particularly if you are off campus and do not have a fast Internet connection.
