- Boise State Writing Project offers programming throughout the year, including two annual conferences, a variety of courses and institutes, in-service series for schools, workshops and workshop series, retreats, programs for student writers, and sponsored speeches and workshops with literacy experts.
- First-year Writing Program is a sequence of courses that provide students a space that encourages deep reflection, extensive writing, and ongoing research. These courses introduce students to tools they can use to become versatile writers who are able to respond to a wide variety of rhetorical situations.
- Visiting Distinguished Writers in Residence has brought to campus a number of distinguished writers, including Michael Blumenthal, Debora Gregor, Ann Jones, and Dennis Covington.
- Writing Center is a place where students and faculty can find support for their writing efforts. It is staffed by Writing Consultants, graduate and undergraduate students who have taken special training in how to help people with writing.
