Sigma Tau Delta Annual Poetry Contest Winners -  Spring 2006

Open to all BSU undergrads, the 2006 contest attracted 75 entries. No doubt the generous prize money was a motivating factor! Our volunteer judges—MFA graduate students—were a little overwhelmed at the thought of reading 200 or so poems in a week! They reported having a difficult time choosing the top three poems because of the high quality submissions. But choose they did, and the winners were:

First Place $250
Thomas Berry with The Castaway Mask

Second Place $175
Tyler Brewington with The Gates

Third Place $125
Cassie Seawell with today I am looking
