Lisa Day:
Lisa Day's is a miniature book. While I usually abhor such "cute" items (especially Bibles turned tiny--as if to show the bookmaker is more powerfuller than their deity!), Lisa's book is a delightful abcdarium and consists of rhymed couplets on each alphabet letter page. Each couplet details a speaker's feelings about a love affair gone wrong. The book size, then, is perfectl;y appropriate, given the small amount of text. True, the speaker is witty and vicious--at the moment, tiny hearted. But we forgive such hearts, for they have been broken. And we understand such miniature books, for they are books the size of a band-aid.
